Professionalism & Work Ethic
An educator's quality is not measured only by what they know inside the lesson. Arriving on time, being prepared, keeping your word, owning your mistakes and treating every learner with the same care are part of the job too — and they are usually what the learner remembers.

Professionalism is not formality
Professionalism is often mistaken for clothing, a serious tone or a certain distance. It is none of those. Professionalism is the learner being able to plan around you: knowing the lesson will happen, that you will come prepared, that you will do what you said, and that you will treat them with respect whatever else is going on.
International educator codes of ethics group this under a few headings: responsibility and accountability, competence and continuing development, honesty, fairness and equal treatment, and respect for boundaries. The Turkish Ministry of Education’s Teaching Profession Ethics framework lists much the same principles: professional commitment and continuous development, responsibility, justice, equality, honesty and trust, impartiality, and providing a healthy and safe environment.
This module’s claim is simple: those principles are not abstract, and they translate into weekly behaviours.
