Why is an account needed?

We cannot store your progress or your certificate without attaching them to a person. The account does three things: it remembers where you stopped, it issues the certificate in your name, and it links the educator badge to you for later use on your profile.

Only a name and an email address are stored. Teaching on the platform requires a separate application; this account on its own is not a job application.
